On Saturday 8th September, Pete competed in the Vitruvian Triathlon held at Rutland Water (a very large man-made lake) located west of Stamford, in the UK. This race was the National Middle Distance Triathlon Championships.
The Vitruvian Triathlon starts with a 1900m swim in Rutland Water followed by an 84km bike ride which in turn is followed by a 21km run. This type of triathlon is often referred to as a 'Middle Distance' or 'Half Iron Man' race.
It took Pete a total of 5 hours 47 minutes and 37 seconds to complete the gruelling event coming 529th out of 700 competitors.
