INSTALLING THE LICENSE

This section describes how to install the TransGen license.

TransGen uses version 7.2c of the FLEXlm licensing system.  FLEXlm runs a network or 'floating' license, that means that a license daemon runs on a chosen host machine (the license server) and the TransGen software can operate on any machine on the network that can communicate with the license daemon.  TransGen does this via a designated services port.  The port number is specified in the Transgen license key file (and may be changed if necessary) and is assigned when the daemon process is started:  there is no need to specify a port number in the network services map.  The information passed between FLEXlm license daemons and the calling application is independent both of the operating system and the machine hardware.
